Emilie Dalton, Teacher
Emilie Dalton began her practice in 2010 after moving from Pittsburgh to Erie. She found that the challenge and discipline of the practice continually drew her back to the mat and helped her to adjust to her new home and surroundings. Always being an athlete of some of kind, from dance and gymnastics to lacrosse and other endurance sports, the physical aspect of yoga has been a beneficial part of her life for years. Like a lot of new students, the asana practice originally drew her in but that has evolved into a much deeper mental and spiritual practice. While she loves a fiery practice with all the inversions and arm balances, her practice today is much more intentional and grounding.
Emilie completed her first 200-hour teaching training at Amazing Yoga in September of 2017. With a constant thirst for learning and evolving in her practice she acquired a 300-hour certification with Jason Crandell, a 50-hour yin training through Yoga Shanti, and an 85-hour Prenatal and Postnatal Training with Awakened Spirit. With many other workshops and mini trainings in-between. When taking one of Emilie’s classes, expect a beautiful dance like flow with a lot of introspection and time in postures to reflect, evolve, and create space. Intentional movement that she hopes will lead you to clarity and peacefulness in your life. Don’t be surprised if a fun unique posture is thrown out, a tricky transition, and of course some inversions and arm balances. Emilie aims to provide a space of inclusivity so that the practice can be approached by all walks of life.
A true lover of nature and the outdoors, Emilie spends her free time enjoying adventures and hiking with her husband, 2 children, and furry kids, Bubbles and Ernie. Emilie is truly honored to share her passion for yoga with the yogaErie community and is continually learning and inspired by its members.
